What we do
As electrical demands continue to grow, many homes and businesses need a service upgrade to safely support modern equipment, EV chargers, generators, and additions. We perform the load calculations in-house and work directly with utilities and local jurisdictions — including the diagrams and documentation a 400-amp or larger service needs for plan review. As a Certified SPAN Smart Panel Installer, we can also add energy management for real visibility and control.
- Breakers trip repeatedly under normal load
- Adding an EV charger, hot tub, or home addition
- Your insurer won't underwrite the existing panel
- Planning a generator or solar install
- Lights dim when large appliances run

What you get
Sized for what's next
We measure what the building actually draws before sizing anything, so the new service carries the charger, generator, or addition that comes after this one.
We make the calls
PGE, Pacific Power, and the plan reviewer all get what they need from us. You are not the one chasing a utility contact or answering a correction notice.
Power you can see
As a Certified SPAN installer we can hand you circuit-level usage and control from your phone, so the service you paid for is something you can see.
How a job runs, from the first call to final inspection

Consultation
We walk the space, answer your questions, and go through the options, the pricing, and what happens next. If it's an emergency, you get an answer the same day.
Design & planning
Load calculations and service design are done by our own team, not subcontracted out. You see the full scope and a written price, and nothing starts until you've approved it.
Installation
Licensed crews build the job to the approved scope. We pull the permits ourselves and clean up at the end of every day.
Project completion
We walk the finished work with you, label what sits on which breaker, and go through the warranty — so everything meets our standards, and yours, before we call it done.

questions, answered
The things people ask before they book. If yours isn't here, get in touch — we'd rather talk it through than have you guess.
How long does a panel replacement take?
A panel replacement usually takes 8 to 10 hours, and you should expect to be without power for that duration. We tell you the window before we start so you can plan around the fridge and anyone working from home.
Do I need a permit for a panel upgrade?
Yes, and we pull it for you. Oregon requires a permit for any service change or panel replacement. An unpermitted panel is a problem at resale and can void your homeowner's insurance — we don't skip it.
When should I upgrade from 100A to 200A service?
If you're adding an EV charger, a hot tub, a major appliance, or an ADU, 100A is almost certainly undersized. We'll do a load calculation to confirm — it's included in the estimate.
Do you deal with the utility, or do I have to?
We do. A service change means coordinating a disconnect and reconnect with PGE or Pacific Power, and we make those calls and schedule around their window so you are not chasing a utility contact.
Can you install a 400A service?
Yes. 400A and larger is normal work for us — large additions, EV fleets, shop and ADU builds. We prepare the load calculations, the one-line diagram, and the supporting documentation the utility and the AHJ plan reviewer need.
What is a SPAN smart panel, and do I need one?
A SPAN panel replaces your breaker box with one that meters every circuit and lets you control them from your phone, which is useful if you are adding solar, a battery, or an EV charger. We are a Certified SPAN Smart Panel Installer, but it is an option, not a requirement — a standard panel is the right answer for plenty of homes.
My insurer flagged my panel. Will an upgrade fix that?
Usually, yes. Insurers most often balk at Federal Pacific, Zinsco, and Challenger panels, or at anything unpermitted. A permitted, inspected replacement is what they want to see, and we give you the paperwork to send them.
